About the Position
The Intensive Family Support (IFS) program is an intensive, time-limited case management support service. The Director Family Support Services (Southern Queensland) will be responsible for the practice and operational leadership of IFS services south of Rockhampton. Currently this includes Brisbane North, Maryborough, Toowoomba, Roma, and Gold Coast.
- Full time permanent position.
- South East Queensland based opportunity with hybrid flexible working.
- Salary will be negotiated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practice and operational leadership across IFS services, ensuring a high level of practice quality, compliance with Service Agreements, Act for Kids policies and procedures and the Human Service Quality Framework.
- Ensure service delivery is child-focused, trauma-informed and aligned to best practice organisational, community and cultural expectations.
- Ensure services delivered to children, young people, families, and communities of all backgrounds are culturally safe, appropriate, and inclusive.
- Work collaboratively with the Director – Family Support Services – Northern Queensland to ensure practice excellence and consistency across all family support services.

About You
- A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (allied health, psychology, social work, human services).
- At least 8 years of proven effective leadership and senior management experience, preferably within a family support service delivery context.
- Previous experience as a practitioner working with children or young people within a relevant context.
- An ability to provide strong leadership, supervision, guidance, and support to operational managers to ensure a cohesive child-focused and trauma informed approach to service delivery.
- A willingness and ability to travel to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
