Director-General

Allied for Startups asbl, the global voice for the startup ecosystem, seeks a senior executive to lead global operations and manage our European team.

As Director-General, you’ll lead the Secretariat, set global strategy, liaise with the Board, members, advisors, and stakeholders, lead fundraising, be the public face, and manage staff. You’ll provide globally-focused leadership, oversee day-to-day operations in Brussels, and develop our international presence.

Objectives:

• Work closely with stakeholders to address organizational issues.
• Oversee strategic development and daily operations, ensuring compliance.
• Maintain a strong work culture and increase organization’s impact.

Responsibilities:

• Meet fundraising goals by securing support from foundations and corporations.
• Coordinate activities, engage with members and sponsors.
• Lead coordination of yearly activities and achieve KPIs.
• Manage staff reflecting community served.
• Travel may be necessary.

Required skills:

• 10+ years in senior management, preferably in advocacy or nonprofit.
• Successful fundraising track record.
• Experience in building alliances.
• Knowledge of nonprofit management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and strong leadership skills.

Preferred skills:

• 5+ years in technology or entrepreneurship policy.
• Budget management experience.
• Excellent English communication skills.
