About the Position
The Director – Individual Support Services is responsible for the practice and operational leadership of our Individual Support Services (ISS) Programs. This fast-growing program has teams located in Cairns, Townsville, Central Queensland, Brisbane and soon to be expanding into other areas of need. The ISS Program works in partnership with Child Safety to provide holistic trauma-informed support to children in the child protection system.
- Full time permanent role with opportunity for flexible working location.
- Salary will be negotiated.
- Includes travel to various Act for Kids locations and overnight work trips as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide practice and operational leadership, ensuring a high level of practice quality, compliance with Service Agreements, Act for Kids policies and procedures and the Human Service Quality Framework.
- Provide leadership and support to managers and team members within the ISS Programs to nurture a high performing workforce aligned to organisational values.
- Work collaboratively with the Service Strategy and Growth team to identify and evaluate growth and expansion opportunities, develop business proposals, and implement new services.
- Work collaboratively with the Support Hub Business Services team to plan, monitor, and manage budgets to ensure contractual obligations are met and operations are delivered within budget.

About You
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., human services, allied health, social work) and professional registration where required.
- At least 8 years of proven effective leadership and senior management experience within a family support or therapeutic service delivery context.
- Previous experience as a practitioner working with children or young people within a relevant context.
- Experience managing teams working across multiple geographic areas.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to form strategic sector and community relationships.
Other Requirements
- Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a Child Safety Personal History Screening Check (LCS2).
- Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical exemption.
