Director, Industry

The Director, Industry, will lead the University-wide effort in advancing NTU-industry collaboration in research, education and industry-oriented sponsorship for flagship programmes to address global challenges and national priorities through co-creation of future-ready talent, achievement of breakthroughs, and generation of economic benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategic direction to advance the NTU-industry collaboration in research, education and industry-oriented flagship programmes to address global challenges and national priorities through co-creation of future-ready talent, achievement of breakthroughs, and generation of economic benefits.

  • Establish close partnership with industry sectors as well as government and promote interaction within the cross-industry ecosystem.

  • Lead and drive the key NTU-industry collaboration initiatives and efforts across the University at central level.

  • Identify and maximize university-wide opportunities with industry leaders in achieving NTU2025 strategies.

  • Develop strategies to build and deepen partnership with key industry partners for the benefit of the NTU community as a whole.

  • Help with implementation and monitoring of projects including flagship projects.

  • Partner closely with key stakeholders to facilitate cross-functional collaborations between Schools, Offices and Laboratories, for better synergy and streamlining.

  • Oversee central governance and data management for better alignment, monitoring of progress, and tracking of performance.

  • Pioneer new university-industry initiatives on education and research in collaboration with other NTU units to increase the competitive edge of the University.

Requirements

  • A good degree from a recognised university.

  • At least 15 years of managerial experience in relevant areas, including leadership, relationship management, stakeholder engagement, marketing, project management, education and training.

  • Proven track record in industry collaboration and experience in higher education sector will be advantageous.

  • Strong leadership competencies with excellent interpersonal skills across organisational hierarchy and ability to work effectively with a diverse community.

  • Self-driven with high integrity, resilience, creativity, and strategic mindset.

  • Excellent in communication, analytical and people management skills.
