Job Summary

The Director of Advancement Services develops, manages, and
implements a comprehensive and systematic approach for researching,
identifying and qualifying prospects for the Foundation. Oversees
data management, reporting and integrity, including gift recording/
receipting system. Supervises a team dedicated to data support,
maintenance, integrity and reporting. Provides research profiles,
research functionality, and guidance in developing each front-line
fundraiser’s pipeline of prospects, as well as develops expertise
in available technology and provides support for the department’s
staff and all users of the Foundation’s constituent database
system. Prepares and provides monthly and quarterly reports for the
Foundation and accounting/finance as required. In this role, the
leader sets the tone and models positive leadership behavior, while
ensuring department and division projects and responsibilities are
completed successfully in support of organizational
goals. 

Required Qualifications

– Require Bachelor’s degree in related field.

– Require five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience, to
include database management and fundraising operations or
administration experience

Preferred Qualifications

– Prefer excellent listening and communication skills, both oral
and written.

-Prefer ability to interact appropriately with a wide variety of
colleagues and donors.

– Prefer excellent research skills and knowledge the
fundamentals of fundraising, including prospect research, donor
qualification, moves management, cultivation, solicitation and
stewardship.

– Prefer experience in health care, higher education, or
non-profit organizations.

– Prefer experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or other
fundraising/constituent management database.

– Prefer in depth knowledge of database management with the
ability to build, manage and improve database content, retrieve
data, and prepare reports.

– Prefer proficiency in applicable computer software, including
Microsoft Office Suite, Excel and Access,

– Prefer understanding of accounting principles, and ability to
develop budgets, action plans and schedules.
