JOB SUMMARY
The Director of the ECS Annual Fund (Director of Annual
Giving) plays a crucial role in the Advancement Department to
facilitate and manage a significant portion of the agency’s annual
giving donors. This position supports the Chief Advancement Officer
in promoting and advancing the agency’s prospect management work.
This hybrid position allows telecommuting remote work with some
structured office hours required.
Essential Job Duties and
Responsibilities
- Support the agency’s annual budget by developing and managing
cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for a
significant population of annual giving donors, working with ECS
management and board as appropriate. - Supervise the Advancement Operations Team, consisting of the
Database Manager and the Advancement Assistant, Database - Manage solicitation strategies across most individual giving
levels, including the monthly giving circle; - Work with Chief Advancement Officer and Individual Giving
Officer to continually review donor lists to solicit donors at the
proper levels. - Develop selected initiatives targeting the next generation of
donors and reaching beyond the Episcopal network. - Coordinate with members of the MARCOM department to develop
strong and cohesive annual giving messages across all
communications platforms. - Promote donor events to assigned prospects and be on hand for
events
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s level degree in relevant discipline
- Minimum four (4) years’ experience of successful direct mailing
fundraising in a non-profit environment with demonstrated ability
to systematically cultivate, solicit, and steward a large number of
prospective donors resulting in significant increased
gifts. - Demonstrated experience with email and social media forms of
cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship - Supervisory experience required
- Recent experience with functionality and management reports
from Raiser’s Edge database view and Raiser’s Edge NXT. - Familiarity with advanced features of Microsoft Office suite of
products
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to interface professionally with a variety of
stakeholders. - Ability to work independently, but collaboratively, in
goal-oriented team environment - Ability to work effectively with donor community within the
Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania as well as city and region. - Exceptional attention to detail, skilled at communications both
orally and in writing.
