One of 31 Primary Health Networks established by the Australian Government, we work to identify health needs of local communities and fund and improve primary health services. About the Role
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a highly skilled Director of Commissioning. You will lead service commissioning across various portfolio areas, including Primary Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, and Suicide Prevention. Your role will ensure that services align with government policies and meet the strategic goals of GCPHN. In collaboration with our Senior Leadership Team, you will provide both strategic and operational leadership. You will lead a passionate commissioned services team, maintaining a positive and high-performing culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide senior leadership across a range of portfolio areas as required by the organisation.
- Research government policy and strategy, ensuring alignment of regional service delivery and projects.
- Contribute to the annual needs assessment, identification of changing trends, patterns, and emerging gaps across portfolio areas.
- Build, develop and maintain strong and collaborative partnerships, through community, consumer, and service provider engagement.
- Contribute to Strategic planning and lead annual work and project planning relevant to portfolio’s including annual Commissioning Strategy (business case).
- Represent GCPHN in Regional, National and State advisory and steering committee meetings as nominated by the organisation.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Ability to plan and provide strategic commissioning leadership both within a multi-disciplinary team and more broadly across a complex human service delivery environment.
- Highly developed project management skills to plan, lead and manage complex projects simultaneously in a health setting, to a high standard, on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results in an environment of ongoing health reform and organisational change, to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, influencing, partnering, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, particularly in relation to community and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience leading and managing a high performing team.
- Relevant tertiary qualification/s and experience in a primary health/community health setting will be highly regarded.
