Job Summary:

 

The Director of Corporate, Foundation and Government Grants is a
key member of the development team within the Office of College
Advancement. Primary responsibilities include the development and
implementation of strategies to secure leadership support from
corporate, foundations, and government agencies (state and federal)
for top institutional fundraising priorities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Work in close collaboration with academic and administrative
    leaders to research, develop, submit and shepherd corporate,
    foundation and government funding proposals
  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with
    corporate partners, foundation grant officers as well as
    legislators and their representatives
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting and exceptional stewardship
    for corporate, foundation and government funders
  • Closely track and monitor developments in federal and state
    funding streams to identify potential opportunities that align with
    institutional priorities
  • Partner with major gift officers, gift planning officer, annual
    fund staff, and other college colleagues to appropriately leverage
    relationships with Marist alumni, parents, and friends to support
    funding proposals and grant applications
  • Participate as an active member of the Advancement team,
    representing the office at special events and activities throughout
    the year

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have seven to ten years of
progressively responsible experience in the development field,
exceptional interpersonal skills and a proven track record of
securing six and seven figure grants from foundations and
government agencies.  Position requires outstanding verbal and
written communication skills; ability to manage multiple
priorities; creativity; an entrepreneurial spirit; and strong
analytical and organizational skills.

The position includes a comprehensive benefit package*. Benefits
for this position include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • 3 weeks of paid vacation. 4 weeks of paid vacation beginning in
    the 6th year of employment.

    employee / 85% employer contribution rate. Flexible Spending

  • 403(b) defined contribution plan:
    • First 6 years College contributes 7.5%, Employee contributes a
      mandatory 4%.
    • College contribution increases to 10.5% in year 7, and 12%
      after 15 years.
    • Employee contribution decreases to 1% in year 7. Remains 1%
      thereafter.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary,
    up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate
      credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee,
      spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • College pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester
      towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or
employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the
College.
