Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren (DECCB) is a Christian non-profit organisation offering help and support for living a dignified and valuable life despite age, illness, disability, isolation, difficult social situations and other life crises.
About the Center:
Diaconia of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren – Center of Relief and Development provides humanitarian assistance during natural disasters in the Czech Republic and organizes development cooperation and humanitarian aid abroad. Together with our local partner organizations, we collaborate on long-lasting projects in Ukraine, Lebanon, Jordan, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Myanmar to address social, environmental, health, and economic issues. In the Czech Republic, we provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by natural disasters as well as focus on the prevention and preparedness of local communities. For the humanitarian assistance in the Czech Republic, we work with adult volunteers, whom we train in emergency preparedness and PSS regularly.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated director who will be responsible for the strategic management, development, and representation of our organization. The main responsibilities will include
- Creating and updating the long-term vision and strategy of the Center;
- Ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our projects and programs;
- Managing and developing the team of employees and volunteers;
- Acquisition and management of financial resources and grants;
- Building and maintaining relationships with donors, partners, media, and the public.
Basic Requirements:
- University degree in a relevant field
- Ability to lead, motivate and inspire
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- At least 3 years of professional experience at a senior level (project and program management) within a humanitarian and/or development organization
- Experience with strategic planning;
- Respect for the Christian values
- Fluently spoken and written English – advanced level (C1)
- Willingness to learn Czech
- Willingness to travel abroad;
- Reliability, time flexibility, creativity, and a sense of humour.
- EU citizens and people with permanent residence or work permit in the Czech Republic
Additional Assets:
- Membership in the Christian church;
- Knowledge and orientation in the non-profit sector;
- Driver’s license B.
