This is a senior strategic role in the university, focused on managing both the financial functions and requirements of the institution, while working with the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive to drive the university’s financial resources strategically through playing an integral role in both policymaking, decision-making and implementation. The successful candidate will be not only be a sound manager of an effective finance department, but a creative and innovative thinker bringing a wealth of experience to further enhance the university’s financial health and commercial diversification.

Responsible for the leadership and development of the institution’s financial affairs, strategic forecasting, income generation and compliance, the Director of Finance will lead and develop the institution’s financial affairs, strategic forecasting, reporting, audit oversight and compliance, and support the delivery of the University’s objectives as identified in the new AUB 2030 Strategy.

Candidates will need to have demonstrable experience of strong and effective leadership in the areas of financial and scenario planning, income diversification, reporting and analysis, audit oversight and management, policy development, internal controls and budgeting within a specialist modern university.

This is an established role, positioned within the Vice-Chancellor’s Group and working in collaboration with members of AUB’s leadership team to review, develop and maintain in the areas of financial strategy, sustainability, and systems, with a keen eye on potential opportunities to optimise innovative delivery, income growth and maximisation of the AUB potential.
