We are seeking a skilled Director of Finance and Operations to join our team. As a key player at IPA, you will be responsible for overseeing fiduciary activities, providing comprehensive financial analysis reports, monitoring progress towards operational goals, and serving as an onsite human resource leader in collaboration with our professional employer organization (PEO) partner. Join us in managing partner relationships and utilizing insights to support the growth and efficiency of IPA under the guidance of our President & CEO and Board of Directors.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide comprehensive financial updates by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points; guide financial decisions by applying organization policies and procedures to industry best practices
  • Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective action; enhance, maintain, or develop financial controls and guidelines; maintain appropriate segregation of duties
  • Assist CEO with human resource functions, including policies and procedures, writing job descriptions, onboarding and exiting employees, etc.; maintain HR processes including payroll, retirement benefits, and other related functions; work with PEO as internal point of contact for employee communication, onboarding, and exiting
  • Manage all financial processes and transactions including AR, AP, financial reporting, annual audit, tax filings, and other related functions; monitor investments and provide insights to CEO and Board of Directors as needed; ensure successful risk management
  • Oversee relationships with and deliverables from relevant consultants and vendors such as audit firm, insurance brokers, professional employer organization (PEO), and the like
  • Works with IPA staff to develop milestones and metrics related to internal activities and external impacts; creates and maintains systems for regularly monitoring progress toward project completion, goals, and metric attainment.
  • Administer the CRM database as it pertains to revenue or other financial processes; utilize project management tools, data visualization software and other systems to manage workflow
  • Support the development of short and long-term operational strategies; develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or related field
  • Three or more years of experience in related role
  • Excellent attention to detail, high expectations for quality, and high ethical standards required; proven customer service ethic expected
  • Proficient software skills in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to develop financial plans, set priorities, manage projects, and implement overarching organizational strategies; ability to work well within a team environment
  • Familiarity with the philanthropy field or nonprofit sector preferred
