We are seeking a Director of HR-SOM . The Director of HR-School of Medicine (SOM) is a critical member of the HR leadership team, who works to effectively execute human resources policies, practices, and programs across the SOM. This position regularly collaborates with the Sr. Director of HR SOM to ensure alignment and support of the school’s business operations, compliance with applicable human resources laws and regulations, and consistency with the human capital strategies and models of human resources best practices at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) and Johns Hopkins Medicine (an enterprise including SOM and JHHS). This position serves in an advisory capacity for HR Business Partners across the clinical and non-clinical departments and divisions within the School of Medicine. These departments include approximately 7,500 employees who are directly engaged in academic research, medical education, finance and administrative support functions and the clinical practice of medicine. The Director works with SOM leadership, faculty representatives and administrative leaders to implement and maintain strong HR practices and processes that ensure a strong focus on employee retention, engagement, employee relations and compliance. The Director also contributes support and feedback toward best practice efforts across the University-wide employee and labor relations function.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
