Director of Individual Giving

Strathmore

tendersglobal.net

Join a dedicated team of professionals who believe the arts are
as primal as nature and as essential as love. They reflect our
humanity and help us understand, connect, empathize, and grow.

We believe the most compelling contemplations of our world are
created by artists, and amplifying these creative voices is at the
heart of our work. The Strathmore experience awakens the creativity
within us, blurring the line between artist and audience fusing a
dynamic community.

Though we are best known for presenting world-class arts
programming, Strathmore is also fiercely committed to supporting
emerging artists, providing abundant education opportunities, and
providing access to the arts for everyone.

Additionally, Strathmore’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and
Access (I.D.E.A.) initiative expands access and representation,
centers inclusion, and builds equity for all. We are learning how
inequities impact our organization’s work and are committed to
resolving those inequities to create a greater sense of belonging
for our entire community.

As the Director of Individual Giving, you
will play a crucial role in advancing Strathmore’s mission and
values by serving as a strategic and mission-driven frontline
fundraiser. Reporting to and partnering closely with the Vice
President of Advancement, you will spearhead the growth of
contributed revenue opportunities from individual donors and family
foundations.

With an emphasis on cultivating and deepening relationships with
existing and prospective donors capable of 5-6-figure gifts, you
will help build our capacity to nurture, support, and celebrate the
arts right here where we live.

Relationship Builder

  • Manage a portfolio of individual donors, family foundations,
and prospects of meaningful capacity by utilizing fundraising best
    practices—with a heavy focus on face-to-face solicitations—to help
Strathmore achieve short and long-term fundraising goals.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for this portfolio by
creating a personalized cultivation plan and individualized goals
and strategies for each donor/prospect that is driven by the
intersection of the donor’s passions and interests and programmatic
    priorities and needs of Strathmore.
  • Grow individual donor base by identifying, qualifying,
cultivating, and soliciting new prospects, moving them through the
pipeline in an intentional and systematic way.
  • Analyze and predict portfolio’s propensity, capacity, and
    enthusiasm to give.
  • Prepare and review donor briefs, contact reports,
acknowledgement and solicitation letters, gift proposals, and other
communications materials for potential prospects and donors.
  • Partner with the Donor Engagement team to provide exceptional
stewardship, including recognition, invitation lists, and reporting
    on a gift’s impact.
  • Record and update interactions in Tessitura, Strathmore’s CRM,
including actions and notes, proposals, and other pertinent
    information, in a timely manner.
  • Represent and support Strathmore in person, as necessary, at
    events, meetings, and other activities.

Collaborator

  • Work closely with the President and CEO and Vice President of
Advancement to support their cultivation, solicitation, and
stewardship efforts by creating donor profiles, briefing materials,
and talking points, leveraging their leadership in giving
strategies, and regularly sharing progress updates.
  • Facilitate conversations with colleagues to identify programs
and initiatives that require funding or may be of interest to
    potential prospects.
  • Connect with colleagues to secure relevant project information,
    including budgets, to create proposals.
  • Coordinate with the Individual Giving Manager on direct
response strategies as relates to mid-level giving.
  • Partner with the Director of Donor Engagement on major gift
    strategies and pipeline development.
  • Develop bold giving and engagement ideas through a
collaborative process with the Advancement team and colleagues,
based on research and experiences with donors.
  • Understand popular planned giving vehicles and team up with the
Director of Donor Engagement to maximize planned giving
    opportunities.

Leader

  • In tandem with the Vice President of Advancement, build and
update relevant individual giving fundraising budgets and
projections and assist in maintaining dashboards and other
reporting tools for senior staff and board members.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Advancement team in
developing donor strategies, campaigns, and initiatives to achieve
    department-wide goals.
  • In coordination with institution leadership, engage and support
the Board of Directors in their fundraising efforts.
  • Actively contribute to our equity-informed and inclusive work
environment by taking an active role in promoting practices that
    support diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Regularly share experience and expertise with team members and
help mentor colleagues across the organization.
  • Represent Advancement at cross-departmental meetings,
performances, and internal and external events.
  • Fully embrace an agile mindset and work style to take on other
    projects as assigned.

    capability.
  • Resourceful and takes initiative to investigate and resolve
    questions.
