DESCRIPTION

Functional Area 1:  Compliance 

Percent Effort: 35%

  • Evaluates the requirements for receipt of VA and Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi Military benefits by analyzing and monitoring enrollment, the student financial account, financial aid, admissions requirements, and academic records of each veteran or eligible person.

Functional Area 2: Outreach & Retention

Percent Effort:  35%               

  • Provide encouragement to all military connected students through consistent communication, routinely monitoring progress throughout the duration of enrollment.
  • Overseas programing related to veteran and military-connected students at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi to include campus and community events with the goal of promoting and ensuring a holistic approach throughout the student life cycle.
  • Conduct outreach to community and governmental groups or organizations that actively support or promote education benefits to Military, Veterans, and eligible dependents. This may include attendance at or coordination of meetings or outreach events

Functional Area 3: Supervision

Percent Effort: 20%

  • Supervises the Office of Military and Veteran Services and serves as approver of all leave in the office.

Functional Area 4: Other Duties Assigned

Percent Effort: 10%                

  • All other duties as assigned by the Special Assistant to the Vice President of Enrollment Management.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Ten (10) years of related experience.
  • Additional education may be used as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement:
    • Master’s degree and eight (8) years of related experience
  • Knowledge of higher education or business operation practices, communication techniques, computer and software programs, as well as data processing and record keeping practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in writing, operate in a challenging environment, as well as work independently to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule as necessity

WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE:

  • Experience with Enrollment Manager, VA-ONCE, Hazlewood.
  • A strong military or military family connection.

SALARY: $66,000-$84,000 ( Dependent upon education/experience)
