As the Director of Partnerships & Co-Investment Strategies
you will develop, manage, and implement partnership strategies that
shape and support Ally Development’s role in building
out strategic partnerships and co-investment strategies with
philanthropic partners, with a particular focus on individual
donors, donor advisors and donor networks in service
of our mission to help build a spiritual foundation
for a loving world.
This is a full-time position requiring up to 60%
travel. Candidate must be willing to live in Kalamazoo, MI or
near a major city such as LA, Chicago, or New York City.
The Institute provides a competitive compensation package to
attract and retain talent. The Institute’s pay philosophy includes
a commitment to offering new employees’ compensation that falls at
or above the 50th percentile mark for the market rate of the
position. In this case, the market rate for this position is
$169,500. This role is eligible for a comprehensive and generous
benefits package including medical, dental, vision, prescription,
401(k), 5 weeks accrued paid time off, matching gifts, and an
extensive wellness package, along with opportunities for
professional and spiritual development.
RESPONSIBLITIES
Relationship Strategy
- Co-develop with VP Ally Development relationship building
strategies throughout the philanthropic sector. - Lead, manage and evaluate co-investment opportunities with
philanthropic partners. - Implement and manage strategies that expand our network and
build deeper relationships with donor advisors, individual donors
and donor networks. - Responsible for regular outreach including meetings, calls,
emails, etc. to build and deepen relationships
with philanthropic funding partners. - Play a key role in the thought leadership of Ally Development
including but not limited to writing, speaking at
conferences, and participating in social media. - Engage staff members as necessary in the relationship building
process, including VP’s, EVP/COO and President. - Actively participate in funder networks including attending
events/convenings, co-facilitating and
co-developing convening agenda’s, etc. - Lead in building out co-granting partnerships with individual
donors, donor advisors and donor networks.
Management
- Managing staff and key consultants in order to execute Ally
development strategies and tactics. - Work with the Associate Director of Ally Development in
overseeing the Ally Development Team.

- Attend the Tuesday morning Community of Freedom Gatherings from
9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT each week. - Optional 2:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m. EDT meditation time, every
day. - Independently directed professional and spiritual development
built into your work plan.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree plus seven to ten years of experience in
the philanthropic sector. - Experience in strategic planning, project
management, financial management, staff supervision and
development, and leading key internal strategic
initiatives. - Knowledge of the philanthropic sector, particularly
with donor advisors, individual donors and donor networks. - Willingness, availability, and ability to
travel domestically and internationally.
