Kennebec Land Trust seeks a full time Director of Partnerships who will coordinate communication strategies and help develop new approaches for effectively reaching supporters. The Director of Partnerships will have the opportunity to integrate relevant and creative conservation approaches into programmatic work.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, financial, and interpersonal skills, be enthusiastic about KLT’s mission, and enjoy working with a collaborative team to shape and implement an innovative and sophisticated membership and communications program.

Job responsibilities include membership development and database management; support for the KLT Board Development Committee with a focus on major donor communications; print and social media communications; and assistance with grant writing and financial reporting.    

Candidates must be proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and membership database software, and be highly organized, able to meet deadlines, and capable of multi-tasking.

KLT is recognized as a conservation leader in our service area communities and Maine and has initiated a number of innovative projects including Local Wood WORKS, Baldwin Hill Conservation Cemetery, the Curtis Homestead Forestry Education program, and Kennebec Woodland Partnership. Salaries are competitive and dependent on qualifications and experience. We are looking for an individual to grow with the organization. Responsibilities:

Membership Program

  • Maintain thoughtful and relevant communications with current membership and develop strategies to engage with new supporters
  • Assist with building business partner membership and major donor advancement
  • Oversee the process and systems for managing KLT’s database, membership renewal, and donation transactions
  • Attend community/non-profit events and find opportunities to spread general awareness of  KLT’s work
  • Assist with KLT outreach and education programs as needed

Media Relations, Publications and Multi-Media Content, Grants

  • Develop, coordinate, write, and oversee the production of KLT’s bi-annual newsletter, event announcements, and other publications;
  • Integrate climate change content that helps people understand climate impacts and empowers them with knowledge and skills to address current issues
  • Assist in the content development, design, production, and dissemination of  publications, including property brochures
  • Lead new approaches to creating and distributing multi-media content
  • Prepare and schedule regular social media posts (photos, videos, livestreams) in conjunction with relevant staff
  • Photograph events, programs, meetings, and projects for use on social media and the KLT website
  • Manage KLT’s website with support from other KLT staff
  • Respond to inquiries about Baldwin Hill Conservation Cemetery
  • Assist with grant writing and financial reconciliation

Benefits: Position includes paid vacation time, seven days of paid sick time, twelve paid holidays, three paid personal days, retirement benefits, and eight weeks of paid parental leave. The schedule occasionally requires work on weekends and evenings. Flex time work days will be considered.

KLT’s Director of Partnerships will report to KLT’s Executive Director.
