RWI is a dynamic international human rights organisation endeavoring to reassert our strength in humanitarian law. We have operated for forty years with governments, NGOs, academia, and other stakeholders to uphold and promote human rights principles and humanitarian law through research, education, and outreach. Our team of experts empower individuals, institutions and organisations and thus make a tangible impact on human rights and humanitarian law challenges.
We are about 70 employees working from six locations around the world; Armenia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kenya, Sweden (head office) and Zimbabwe. Our financial turnover in 2024 is expected at about 12 million USD.
Being the DSPC
The newly established department for Strategic Partnership and Communications (SPC), presents a unique opportunity for our institute to enhance, and foster more collaborative relationships and help us to effectively communicate both internally, and with external stakeholders. While simultaneously provide the organisation with a key asset to enhance its public image and outreach efforts.
As the new Director for SPC (DSPC), you are responsible for crafting and executing comprehensive communication and partnership strategies to amplify RWI’s impact, this is done in collaboration with our different departments as well as with external partners. You will help drive joint initiatives and outreach campaigns and you will have the daily oversight of our international communications team as well as with our liaison colleagues.
We offer a four-year management position as the DSPC, extendable. And as a basis you are given a permanent position as Senior Programme Manager (with salary adjustments taken into consideration). You will report to the Executive Director and will be part of the senior management team at RWI. The position is based in Lund, Sweden, and requires international travelling.

Your profile
Requirements
You have a proven track record of working in the field of strategic partnerships, and you bring a strong and documented experiences in internal and external communications. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams towards achieving common goals. A strategic thinker with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, you have a strong track record in producing OP-EDs and other written communications and you are used to handle media related matters.
You are fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
Familiarity with human rights and international humanitarian law and professional experience in multicultural settings are desired qualifications but we hire for the required qualifications and attitude.
