The Opportunity

The Director, Research Ethics and Compliance Support is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, operational, budget and human resource management of the UNSW Research Ethics and Compliance Support unit .

Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, you’ll oversee and manage a comprehensive research ethics and compliance program including a contemporary online research ethics and compliance system, fostering a culture of integrity, and collaborating with stakeholders to maintain UNSW’s commitment to ethical research practices.  You’ll also lead the UNSW Research Ethics and Compliance Team in providing support for the UNSW Animal Care and Ethics Committees, Human Research Ethics Committees, the Biosafety and Radiation Safety Committees, clinical trials governance, and other research related compliance activities across UNSW.

About the successful applicant

You can demonstrate your research ethics and compliance experience at senior level, deep understanding and commitment to current knowledge of legislation, codes, guidelines and rules relating to research ethics and safety committees and the governance of clinical trials, as well as leadership, change management and stakeholder management experience to ensure successful outcomes through the delivery of high-quality customer service.
