The Service Coordinator role will coordinate services and lead practice at our two Apartment Living sites in Villawood and Guilford, providing supervision, on the ground role-modelling, coaching and support for staff as well as supports to the clients.

Achieve has been providing services to people with disability since the 1950s. Today, we are a registered NDIS provider offering integrated clinical, health, social and disability services in accommodation, community participation, supported employment and support coordination services in the Greater Sydney and in Northern Rivers regions in NSW.

About the role

Reporting to the Service Manager, this role closely oversees client services and plans to create an empowering and enabling environment for people with disabilities and maximize opportunities for the attainment of personal goals and lifestyles. Through effective leadership of our Apartment Living model, this role will support staff to meet the needs outlined and provide active, shared and ad hoc supports.

In this role, some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Assists with the day-to-day financial operation of sites, including household accounts, staffing costs, and required evidence for the Concierge model.
  • Contribute to budget setting and profit and loss reviews, effectively managing cost levers including operational workforce planning and resourcing by approving master rosters and monitoring and verifying the viability of changes to supported independent living operational rosters.
  • Coordinate day to day operations of the Apartment Living sites to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff to comply with the organisation’s policies, processes and procedures to meet the NDIS Practice Standards and all regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Initial escalation person for site team members.
  • Fosters and embeds a culture of continuous improvement, active support and client safeguarding improving practices and culture to protect, clients, children and other vulnerable people from harm and neglect and help maximise positive client outcomes.
  • Ensure the timely provision of all mandatory reporting to meet the requirements of the Service Manager and Operations Manager.
  • Drives Apartment Living development with team members.
  • Ensure housing properties are maintained to appropriate standards.
  • For supervision purposes, may be required to work up to 8 hours afternoons and 16 hours a month (not on the roster/flexible)

About you

The suitable incumbent would have:

  • Relevant qualifications (minimum Cert IV) or equivalent experience in disability support or customer service.
  • Strong experience in customer service, floor management or hospitality management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of NDIS, principles of Active support and human rights-based approach to service delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff and client outcomes in multiple accommodation settings.
  • Proficient Computer literacy – able to easily learn and use MS Office Suite and online systems.
  • Practical experience in achieving community inclusion and ensuring services maintain appropriate.
  • Experience in drop-in support and day programs.
