You will have comprehensive training throughout your orientation, with ongoing learning and development. This includes:
- Specialist training opportunities
- Buddy shifts with CPA’s experienced Disability Support Workers
- Opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support and/or a Certificate IV in Disability.
- We invest $5,000 in training in your first year
These exciting community based roles will see you work across various locations in Central Coast including Long Jetty and Wyong. Preferred availability is at least any 2 week days (Between Monday and Friday) and every 2nd Saturday.
Day time shifts between 9AM-4PM, Flexibility to work outside these hours will allow you to get involved in the diverse range of activities and adventures the Lifestyles services include!
About the role
- If you are passionate about sharing your hobbies and interests with our clients whilst further developing their social, interpersonal and life skills and encouraging their independence, come join our enthusiastic and high energy Lifestyles team!
- In this role, you will assist our clients to participate in their local community by facilitating their involvement in fun and rewarding activities whether it be visiting their local shopping centre, arts & crafts, cooking, yoga and more! This is your chance to use your motivational and support skills so our clients feel empowered and fulfilled.
- This will include working on your own or supporting 2 clients in a one on one support or one to two ratio.
The role also includes:
- Supporting clients to build new skills through the delivery of client-centred, innovative programs such as arts & crafts, music, health & fitness
- Assisting clients at meal times, with personal care needs i.e. feeding, getting dressed and administering medication
- Personal and domestic assistance for clients at home or in the neighbourhood, including attending appointments, shopping etc
Requirements
- A current NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 minimum), access to a car and fully comprehensive insurance
- Live locally to the locations mentioned above
- Triple COVID-19 vaccinated
