Job Overview
In the role of a Disability Support Worker within our organisation you will be tasked with aiding participants in their routines, fostering independence and ensuring a stimulating atmosphere. This position necessitates a hands-on approach, a demeanour and the ability to collaborate effectively with a group.
The Specifics
As a Disability Support Worker at Casa Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting our participants in their daily routines, promoting independence, and creating a stimulating environment. This role requires hands-on engagement, a compassionate attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
At this time, we are seeking dedicated individuals available to work in our day program between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and for our Home Care Services (HCS) clients, we require staff who can work shifts from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Ongoing fixed rosters are available for candidates with the right availability. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong experience in manual handling, personal care, and managing complex behaviors. We also have a growing number of clients requiring the support of a female support worker.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Provide respectful and attentive personal care, ensuring the safety and well-being of our participants.
- Activity Facilitation: Encourage and assist participants in educational and social activities.
- Skill Development: Support the growth of life skills and independence among individuals.
- Behavior Management: Implement care plans to help individuals manage complex behaviors.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including progress notes and incident reports.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to deliver comprehensive care.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support, or equivalent.
- Proven experience in manual handling, personal care, and managing complex behaviors.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to undergo background checks (National Police Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check).
Desirable:
- Experience working with female clients in a support capacity.
