The Job:
AV have a diverse workforce, as well as a solid commitment to embedding a culture of inclusion and equity across all our regions and service areas. This is lead and informed by our overarching DEI Strategy, as well as input and advocacy from committees representing diverse cultures and individuals across the organisation, including disability, CALD, Gender and 4 other priority groups. We’re proud of where we are however there’s work still to do.
The re-defined scope and main objective of the DEI Specialist Role is to help support the business to implement and operationalise some of the key actions from our DEI strategy, while influencing the executive sponsors of our DEI groups to focus on deliverables aligned to their specific focus, while maintaining a solid understanding of intersectionality and what the changes or recommendations from each mean to the day to day work at AV.
A passion for DEI is fantastic however this is a hands-on role requiring a practical approach, with a key focus on actions and outcomes. This could involve reviewing and writing policy, making continuous improvements, managing the logistics of committee groups, influencing executive sponsors and supporting realistic and actionable change.

About You:
- Experience in a similar role in the human services sector.
- A continuous improvement focus and experience implementing change across large programs.
- A solid understanding of policy, process and the implementation of strategic actions.
- An ability to influence executive groups and turn passion and enthusiasm into actionable plans.
- A passion for diversity and inclusion across all areas of the organisation as well as a solid understanding of intersectionality.
- A demonstrated ability to engage and communicate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Various qualifications: Social Work, Human Resources, Project Management will all suit this role
The important stuff:
- A total salary package of $122,000 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) (inclusive of super, annual leave loading etc, pro-rata).
- flexible part time hours (.8) 4 days per week
- Office location: Collingwood but with flexibility to work from any Melbourne site.
