Our head office is located in Dublin 2 and we are currently working a hybrid model (50% remote working) and offer flexi time. This role will be based in our Dublin office.

The job:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Grant Compliance Unit of Concern Worldwide. The Donor Audit Advisor will provide support to Concerns country teams on donor audit issues and play a key role in managing and supporting HQ donor audits. They will work with the Head of Grant Compliance to ensure both donor and organisational policies are adhered to through the development of donor guidelines, training material and documenting lessons learned.

This role will involve travel to overseas fields (potentially 20%).

If you join us, this is what you will be doing:

  • Work with our Head of Grant Compliance and the Donor Compliance Advisors to provide practical guidance and training on issues identified during donor audits and key donor compliance areas.
  • Act as main focal point for head office donor audits.
  • Support the country teams on donor audits occurring in field locations.
  • Review and document donor audit recommendations and findings for organisational learning.
  • Support the Grant Compliance Units helpdesk to provide assistance in day to day donor related queries.
  • Represent the compliance team in cross functional projects.
  • Participate in relevant external networks and develop contacts with peer agency counterparts to facilitate sharing, learning and best practice.
  • Conduct support visits to our field offices.
  • Carry out other tasks as required within the Grant Compliance Unit.

Essential skills:

  • Three years auditing experience
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Training and staff development experience
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong report writing and research skills
  • Ability to work under pressure often to strict deadlines
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross functional teams
  • Cross cultural awareness and empathy with organisational goals

Desirable skills:

  • Professionally Qualified Accountant ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA
  • Knowledge of accountancy packages
  • Experience of reporting to and/or managing audits by large institutional donors such as USG, EU, ECHO, Irish Aid, UN and FCDO (highly desirable)
  • Experience in working overseas in the international development sector
  • Knowledge of French (highly desirable)

You will report to the Head of Compliance and work with all Concern HQ Directorates

The full time salary range for the Donor Audit Advisor is 51,402 to 60,472 (band 5). This is a 2 year fixed term contract.
