As Donor Relations Manager “Climate Resilience” you will help secure and expand institutional funding in the field of climate resilience and strategically develop cooperation with donors within the Institutional Donor Relations Unit. You will be the key contact of Welthungerhilfe for a specific institutional donor. Through your work, you will enhance Welthungerhilfe’s profile and visibility as a key player in humanitarian aid and development cooperation.
Your responsibilities
Develop and implement a strategy on respective donors with a focus on climate resilience within the institutional donor strategy framework
Coordinate the application process and ensure that applications and reports are submitted to the respective donor with high quality and in accordance with donor guidelines
Assist in the development of donor and funding strategies at Unit- and Country Office level
Participate in donor conferences and in relevant networks of the respective donor in the field of climate resilience
Prepare, support and conduct (high-level) donor visits relevant for climate resilience
Analyze, interpret and process information and relevant policies and trends of the respective donor
Identify new funding opportunities in the area of climate resilience
Advocate for optimizing donor terms and conditions
Your profile
A university or college degree in the field of social sciences, development policy, international relations or a comparable degree
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in international development cooperation
Experience in planning and implementing development cooperation initiatives
Experience in acquisition of project funds for NGO led projects for climate resilience and adaptation to and mitigation of climate change
Good knowledge about institutional donors in the field of climate resilience, e.g. IKI, Darwin Initiative, multilateral climatefonds (Green Climate Fund, Adaptation Fund), development banks
Strong negotiation and cooperation skills, ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and stress resistance
Strong text production and report writing skills
Very good ability to work in an intercultural environment and willingness to travel outside of Europe
Very good written and spoken English skills; German and/or French language skills are an advantage
