UNICEF Brazil is looking for a Donor Relations Officer to ensure a streamline donor relations process, including timely and high-quality donor reporting. The Office will be supporting in resource mobilization efforts, identifying entry and strengthening the engagement with private sector partners, especially high value donors, while providing quality reporting content development to enhance office performance, supporting UNICEF actions across Corporate areas and Programme areas, delivering results for children.
We are looking for a professional, with a track record in driving for results, providing risk informed, solution-focused analysis, advice, and services in resources mobilization contexts. The position is presential, based in Brasilia, reporting to the Corporate Partnership Specialist, and working closely with the Programme team.

How can you make a difference?

Under the Corporate Partnership Specialist supervision, the Donor Relations Officer works in Brasilia and is primarily responsible for the production/strengthening of evidence and result-based proposals, reports, and knowledge products. The incumbent assignment is sustaining support for management on the existing corporate relationships with major individual donors, foundations and philanthropists, with a strong focus on retention, working in alignment with the PFP (Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division) Regional Support Centre in LACRO (Latin America and Caribbean Regional Office); in close coordination with the programme team in Brazil Country Office to the fulfillment of the rights of children and women.

  1. Development of donor reports, contributing to the collection and analysis of inputs and data, schedules monitoring and storytelling in close coordination with the Private Sector and Philanthropy teams. This includes work closely with Programme, Private Sector and Philanthropy Fundraising teams in order to define donor reporting requirements, templates and reporting schedules, following donor’s contract conditionalities, supporting effective partnership management, collect and analyze inputs and data on programme activities, results and strategies, and its impact to children, adolescents and their families at national, regional and local levels, develop content, using language that is compelling, investment-focused and easily, understandable by corporations, individuals and foundations, monitor progress with the diverse teams involved throughout the process ensuring timely submission and liaise with the Marketing and Communication teams to gather partnership visibility content.
  2. Provide donor proposal development. Work closely with Programme and the New Business teams in order to propose development of donor proposals to mobilize new strategic funding opportunities, establish a proposal delivery process and schedules to be used by both teams, develop and define standardized and easily accessible content on programme. Ensure initiatives, using language that is compelling, investment-focused and easily understandable by corporations, individuals and foundations.
  3. Contribute to strengthening account management to deliver a programme of excellent cultivation and stewardship. This includes support the enhancement of positive relationships and account management to existing corporate relationship with major individual donors and philanthropists, leading to renewals and growth, achieving established goals and KPIs; establish account management plans based on thorough research and fundraising expertise to deliver realistic income and expenditure targets, internal communications and a calendar of activities; monitor, evaluate success and identify key learnings from each partnership and specific fundraising activities to maximize fundraising impact throughout the partnership;  strengthen network’s capacity and develop relationships between partners at all levels, drawing in stakeholders; undertake specific fundraising projects and activities as required. The post-holder, with support from their manager, is expected to work autonomously on specific projects that benefit the wider team; supports cross-functional coordination and collaboration with Corporate and Individuals Fundraising teams, Marketing Services, Communications and Programme teams and maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with partners in line with UNICEF´s core values.
  4. Prepare content development for the corporate team in close collaboration with other sectors; in alignment with the supervisor and PFP Regional Support Centre in LACRO. In close interaction with different areas, support in development of training, and communication possibilities as and when necessary and prepare and/or provide inputs to other knowledge management and communication products that support partnership and donor management at local and regional levels.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have:

Education:

University degree in one of the following areas is required: International Relations, Communication, Business Administration or related fields.

Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in account management, relationship management work is required.

Relevant professional experience in project supervision/customer experience is required.

A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience focused on areas related to donor relations, reports writing, and quality assurance of donor reporting is an asset.

Experience of results-based management and information analysis is an asset.

Previous work experience in the UN System highly desirable.

Experience in international organizations is an asset.

Knowledge and skills:

Strong relationship management/customer experience skills.

Strong writing skills.

Strong planning/organizing skills.

Able to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment, with high level skills in “working with people” in tight deadlines.

Language:

Fluency in English and Portuguese required. Knowledge of Spanish will be considered as an asset.
