The objective of the Administrative Unit is to facilitate programme delivery by providing timely managerial and administrative services to programme delivery collaborators, staff and consultants in all aspects of administrative and financial operations including budget and finance, human resources, fellowships, procurement, travel, ticketing and transportation, logistics, building management, safety and security of staff, information technology including GSM operations, telecommunications, publication dissemination, media, protocols and public relations. Further, to provide accurate guidance, information and practices which lead to full compliance and accountability with the Organization’s established rules and regulations.The immediate objective isto provide general driving and basic administrative services to the personnel ofWHO Country Office for Myanmar.
Under direct supervision of Executive Assistant (logistics) for day to day works and Administrative Officer for overall guidance and support as second level supervisor, the incumbent performs the following duties:1.Provide transportation of authorized personnel including translation of basic conversations from/to the local language, and/ordelivery of various items/commodities, including diplomatic pouches;2.Meet official personnel and visitors at the airportor other entry points and provide basic assistance with visa and customs formalities to facilitate smooth and safe entry;3.Ensure accurate maintenance of the vehicle log booksand daily reporting to the supervisor on mechanical status ensuring efficient vehicle use and fuel consumption supporting accurate accounting and cost-efficiency and safety; 4.Maintain the assigned vehicle clean and in a good condition, including all equipment and ensuring that any major mechanical issues are reported to the supervisor.Any regular servicing or maintenance repair work should be monitored both for correctness and for accomplishment on time, as requested;5.Follow established rules and regulations for drivingand deliveries andsecurity measures enforced by UNDSS, and/or in cases of an accident ensure that all rulesand local requirements are adhered to. Report immediately to the supervisor Administrative Officer and Agency Security Focal Point of any traffic movement disruptions, confrontation with mobs, hooligans, and other violent forces etc. to seek instructions;6.Take suitable precautions for the security of theoffice vehicle and its contents when left unattended and ensure office vehicleis properly parked in UN designated place during non-working hours.7.If required, perform basic office related tasks such as filing, photocopying and maintaining stores including delivery/collection ofvarious items, mailing service and payment of bills to ensure administrative support to Country Office.8.Perform any other duties as assigned.
Essential: Secondary school education. Must hold a valid driving license
Desirable: Knowledge of first aid desirable basic methods in order tobe able to assist in case of emergency; Certificate in first aid trainingDefensive Driving Certification Training in vehicle maintenance;
Essential: At least two years’ work experience as a driver,with demonstrated safe driving record.
Desirable: Work experience with UN offices, international organizations, embassies or other reputable offices would be an advantage.Experience in drivinga variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans, trucks and otherkinds of motorized vehicles. Experience in defensive driving would be an asset.
Must have provided evidence of good eye sight (vision);Soundknowledge of driving rules and regulations;Knowledge of the topography of the duty station and the surrounding areas;Abilityto read and write instructions and maps;Knowledge and ability to use radio, email, telephone and other applications;Ability to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy and tact.

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at USD 10,208 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
