Emma’s program is focused on the following:

  • Capacity building and awareness-raising of governmental and nongovernmental human resources in the field of GBV.
  • Awareness-raising on gender equality and human rights issues.
  • Enhancing women’s participation in decision-making and peace building.
  • Rehabilitation and trauma healing programs for trauma survivors.

Since June 2014, Emma has mainly been working with IDPs, specifically Yazidi women survivors of conflict-related to SGBV.

 

The Driver will be responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services to Emma Organization. This role involves ensuring the safe transportation of staff, beneficiaries, and materials, as well as maintaining the organization’s vehicles in good working condition. The Driver will support the organization’s mission by facilitating smooth logistical operations and promoting a secure environment.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a valid driver license, registration (Should be under the name of driver), vehicle documentation and valid permits all the time,
  • Maintain the log- sheet for the movement trip and the vehicle,
  • Keep the Documents for access letters from authorities (updated letter) in the Vehicle for each trip and make sure to check the name of staff before starting over the trip,
  • Ensure that the Supply chain/fleet focal point and Safety and Security are immediately informed of any accidents,
  • Check the vehicle prior to its use in the morning (Check-in) and (Check out) as well,
  • Maintain all vehicle safety equipment, as per vehicle safety kit, in liaison with the fleet focal point – including first aid kit, communication equipment, and fire extinguisher,
  • Perform any other relevant and appropriate tasks requested by the Line Manager,
  • Ensure that all vehicle journeys are to be recorded in the log-sheet at the start and completion of the journey,
  • Ensure that all staff who join the trip should wear the vehicle safety belt and all passengers wear seat belts before driving the vehicle.
  • Follow and abide by the traffic rules, regulations, driver safety manual, and any other instructions given by Supervisor
  • Driving in inclement weather, such as light snow,
  • Driver should have the medical tests for (Hearing and eye tests),
  • Provide safe and timely transportation for staff, beneficiaries, and visitors.
  • Transport materials and equipment as needed for organizational activities.
  • Ensure adherence to traffic laws and organizational driving policies.
  • Conduct regular checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Schedule and perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and other preventive measures.
  • Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately and coordinate necessary repairs.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
  • Support logistical arrangements for events, workshops, and other activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers by following all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation, including licenses and permits, are up-to-date and available.
  • Keep detailed logs of trips, including destinations, times, and passengers.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed, including filing and organizing documents.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Finished Highschool or Diploma;
  • Minimum two years of experience in professional driving, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Fluency in Kurdish or Arabic language, Basic understanding of English Language is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license appropriate for 4×4 vehicles.
  • Ownership of a well-maintained 4×4 vehicle.
  • Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly.
  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Emma Organization.
