Driver – Service contract (Erbil)

Acts as a service contract under the supervision of the Snr supply chain officer, the driver is specifically responsible for day-to-day tasks given to him by Snr supply chain officer to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization.

The driver will be paid a monthly salary of 1,000,000 IQDs for their services, which will be paid at the end of month after completion of service. The Service Contract is expected to work from 08:30 AM to 04:30 PM with half an hour lunch break, however, working start and end hour along with working days may change based on the need but not to exceed 40 hours each week. The contract will be based on monthly payments.

Major Responsibilities:

• The safe and efficient transportation of IRC personnel and materials

• The representation of IRC in a professional manner.
• Strict adherence to the IRC’s vehicle policies and procedures, including the use of seatbelts by all passengers.
• Maintaining the IRC’s vehicle clean, fueled and mechanically in good condition.
• Daily and pre-long distance vehicle checks.
• Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s log sheet.
• The Driver will be managed in his day-to-day activities by Snr SC officer.
• The Driver must be respectful to IRC passengers, ensure passengers are provided with the maximum comfort levels possible (e.g., using heaters and A/C when appropriate), and abide by IRC’s Code of Conduct and general guidelines for vehicle usage provided by IRC.
• Only IRC personnel, and/or other persons authorized by IRC, may be carried in vehicles while in service.

• The driver will be compensated for food, per diem and accommodation will be made for him by IRC if stays overnight in other governorates for work purposes based on vehicle use policy.
• Duty Station is Erbil with regular travel within Erbil and other governorates. 
• Any other task given by supervisor.

Professional Standards:

 

The IRC and IRC workers must adhere to the values and principles outlined in IRC Way – Standards for Professional Conduct.  These are Integrity, Service, and Accountability.  In accordance with these values, the IRC operates and enforces policies on Beneficiary Protection from Exploitation and Abuse, Child Safeguarding, Anti Workplace Harassment, Fiscal Integrity, and Anti-Retaliation.

 

• No road safety-related fines or convictions. Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations.
• Skills in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repair.
• Knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of HF, VHF and satellite communications equipment.
• Able to carry out limited, unsupervised tasks.
• Drivers must display an attitude and behavior that reflects well on both them and the IRC.
• High school education.
• Valid driving license.
• Able to pass the IRC driving test.
• Experience with INGO/LNGO.
• No road safety-related fines or convictions.
• Demonstration of local area (area of operation) knowledge
• No road safety-related fines or convictions.
• Language Skills:  Kurdish, Arabic, and English is an advantage.
• Minimum two years of work as a professional
• Team spirit and problem-solving abilities.
