Driver with Vehicle (EOI)

Background 

Sherzad Ismail Hussein Company (S.I.H Co) is a local transportation company that specializes in Renting services and selling/Purchasing vehicles, Sherzad Company was founded in 1998. The company has experience in renting all types of vehicles for more than 25 years in Federal Iraq and the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Providing transportation services to local citizens, local and international organizations, and companies with high-standard quality is the purpose of the establishment. Sherzad Company has built a good reputation in rendering the service.

Sherzad Company has several branches throughout Iraq and the Dubai – United Arab Emirates office recently became the company’s headquarters office. The company provides vehicle renting services in all locations in 15 cities in Iraq.

PURPOSE OF EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

SIH plans to hire a pool of individual drivers with their vehicles, including car depreciation, insurance (Full coverage), fuel, and maintenance. The activity will be based in locations specified above with frequent trips around each city. The Driver will be reporting to the Company Fleet Officer.

Sherzad Company will require 3 types of vehicles (Sedan, SUV 5 or 7 Seats, or Pickup), if you have any of the below vehicle types, you are invited to submit your interest.

1- Toyota Corolla 2020 or newer (Sedan)

2- Toyota RAV4, Cross, 2020 or newer (SUV 5 seats)

3- Kia shortage 2020 or newer (SUV 5 seats) 

4- Hyundai Tecson 2020 or newer (SUV 5 seats)

5- All SUVs with 7 seats e.g (Sorento, Santa Fe, Fortuner) no older than 2019

5- Toyota Hilux 2019 or newer (Pickup)

6- L200 – 2020 or newer (Pickup)

7-  Toyota Prado 2018 or newer (SUV +7 seats)

 

 

DRIVER EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid PUBLIC driving license and a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of working experience as a Driver for NGOs, International companies, or as a public employee;
• The interested candidate should be an Iraqi Citizen.
• Knowledge of Mechanics is an asset;
• Spoken Basic English and Arabic is an asset.
• Enthusiastic, flexible, committed,
• Familiar with defensive driving techniques and project area is desirable;
• Good knowledge of country roads and the work location
• The applicant must submit a clear CV (maximum 2 pages)
• A copy of the driver’s license and national ID
• A copy of his Vehicle registration
• The driver will work 8 hours per day (including an hour break), 5 days a week.
• Sherzad Company’s working hours are 08:30 – 05:00 PM from Sunday to Thursday.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Checking the vehicle before its use daily (the driver should use the Sherzad Company checklist and tick the boxes before every departure)
• Observe the Company’s Standard operation for departures and arrivals.
• Ensure no unauthorized person drives the official vehicle on duty.
• Maintain a clean vehicle inside and out. After a journey, remove all rubbish from the vehicle and keep it tidy.
• Maintain a logbook of trip use, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• When the vehicle is not in use, keep the keys and documents secure.
• Before driving, ensure that all passengers are wearing safety belts.
• Ensure that all vehicle journeys are authorized ahead of time.
• Maintaining a car logbook that records all vehicle movements (date, time, kilometers);
• Submit all fuel invoices and payment vouchers;
• Immediately report any accident or security incident/risk to the supervisor. Complete accident and incident reports accurately and on time.
• Check daily before departure that the vehicle is roadworthy and provided with the required vehicle packs (breakdown and recovery kit; fire extinguishers; first-aid kit) according to the Vehicle Check List.
• Facilitate smooth transit across barriers or checkpoints, and liaise with governmental officers, security officers, and military representatives.
• Work after duty hours or holidays as and when required and with prior notice from the line manager.
• It may also be necessary to perform other duties related to the position as directed by the manager.
