The Pension and Endowments Department (PEN) manages over $40 billion US dollars invested across the spectrum of asset classes, from fixed income to private equity and hedge funds.  The Pension Administration Division (PENAD) is part of (PEN) and has two teams located in the Bank’s offices Washington, DC and Chennai, India.  PENAD provides a full range of support functions for the administration of the Staff Retirement Plan (SRP), the Retired Staff Benefits Plan (RSBP) and the Post-Employment Benefit Plan (PEBP). These Plans cover approximately 18,000 active staff and 10,000 retirees around the world.  PENAD determines and administers payment of pension benefits to retirees in U.S. dollars and foreign currencies, accounts for the pension benefit payments, and provides a comprehensive educational program to disseminate the Staff Retirement Plan provisions to participants in the headquarters and country offices.

Duties and Accountabilities

The primary responsibilities will include, but is not limited to, some combination of the following activities:

  • Planning, writing, and editing social media and digital outreach content, and various digital campaign products.
  • Leading content strategy and planning, development, and deployment for our digital communication channels (web, email, AI chat)
  • Maintaining external and internal SharePoint websites; creating and updating the content in collaboration with subject matter experts
  • Be innovative in resoling communication challenges and improving client engagement.
  • Familiarity with industry trends in client communication and associated tools used for the same including portal/ emails/ chatbots.
  • Assisting with developing an outreach strategic plan and implementation guidelines for growing our digital footprint.
  • Developing scripts for the video content and creating intermediary level pension related videos using various digital tools
  • Assisting with developing graphics, and visuals, consistent with the World Bank guidelines
  • Develop content calendars at a consistent frequency (bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) in collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure our communications remain up to date, accurate and easily accessible by our customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of tools used is design and maintenance of digital communication materials.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of digital marketing, website content strategy and analytics, and social media marketing.
  • Ability to conceptualize, design, and implement innovative solutions and challenge the status quo.
  • Proven conceptual, analytical, and appraisal skills; and the ability to interpret and present complex financial information clearly.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate well at all organizational levels, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work directly with clients and management; and facilitate and navigate discussions with stakeholders to ensure clarity, prioritization, and consensus.
  • People Skills and ability to work well with diverse team members, often in multiple locations.
  • Excellent problem solving and the ability to work with different points-of-view and lead the team to convergence, while always keeping the project/initiative objectives in sight.
  • Excellent personal organizational skills and the ability to lead matters to closure.
  • High-level of initiative with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
