IFC’s Human Resources (HR) Department provides strategic partnership to the business to develop and implement workforce strategies and meet organizational goals, including attracting, developing and deploying diverse and skilled talent.

•  Client Services offers strategic HR partnership, program implementation, support and solutions to staff and management globally through our HR Business Partner network.
•  Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion supports the organization to build a diverse workforce, embrace equity, and foster an inclusive workplace.
•  Strategy and Organizational Effectiveness elevates employee experience and effectiveness through digital HR solutions, policy enhancements, organizational design, and workforce planning
•  Global Talent Acquisition and Mobility Services facilitates the end-to-end recruitment process in partnership with hiring managers and attracts candidates with desired skills to join IFC. Supports candidates and staff who are relocating internationally (coming in FY25).
•  Talent Development and Incentives designs a skills-based talent management approach encompassing best practice HR solutions in onboarding, mentoring, career management and mobility, performance/talent management, incentives and awards, and leadership development.

The ET Consultant, DEI will be responsible for implementing initiatives related to the 3 strategic priorities identified by the DEI Council in FY22 – Gender Equality, Data-Driven Action, and Inclusive Leadership. The primary responsibilities will be to manage the initiatives and activities of the IFC DEI Council, support the Program Manager on communications to the Council Co-Chairs (Vice-President level) on the progress and deliverables of the Council; develop presentations for leadership teams to enable evidence based decision-making, which provide a compelling story using insights derived from data; advise and support HQ and Country Offices with information on corporate DEI initiatives and policies in addition to identify how they can be customized to a local market; provide data and analytics support to ensure the timely and effective monitoring of progress against VPU KPIs; and leverage external best practices in DEI to implement across IFC’s global footprint.

Reporting structure:

The ET Consultant, DEI will report to the DEI Program Manager. The DEI team is located within the HR department. The DEI Program Manager reports directly into the Corporate Functions’ Vice President with dotted line reporting into the Managing Director’s Office.

Duties and Accountabilities: 
•  Manage the EDGE Gender re-certification process
•  Manage the work program of IFC’s 4 Employee Resource Groups (i.e. African Descent Alliance, Women’s Network, Millennial Resource Group+, and GLOBE)
•  Co-ordinate the production of IFC’s annual DEI Report
•  Co-ordinate the development of thought leadership through collaboration with the DEI Team, Gender and Economic Inclusion Group, Corporate Governance, and ESG.
•  Build and deepen relationships with DEI VPU Advocates, Country Office Representatives, and ERG Co-Leads to share knowledge and identify opportunities of collaboration across IFC’s global footprint.
•  Extract data from automated dashboards and Excel to develop slides with a compelling narrative for managerial audiences
•  Operationalize the governance framework for the DEI Council (e.g. update Terms of Reference, onboard/offboard members, conduct succession planning, etc.)
•  Prepare materials for bimonthly DEI council meetings including agenda for meetings, presentations, action items and facilitate the meetings
•  Develop and deliver presentations to new staff during onboarding at IFC and at HR department
•  Collaborate with Program Leads (e.g. Leadership Development, Recruitment, Compensation, etc.) and HRBPs to integrate DEI practices into HR processes
•  Act as a DEI subject matter expert by providing content for board reports, annual reports, employee engagement communications and other HR reports/communications
•  Keep abreast of leading practices in DEI within the private sector and International Organizations and share ideas for continuous improvement and innovation

 

Selection Criteria

•  Master’s degree or higher in equity and diversity, social justice, race/ethnic studies, international relations, sustainable development, human rights/justice, student affairs/higher education or other relevant fields is preferred;
•  Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, with 3-5 years within the DEI field
•  Experience with EDGE re-certification process
•  Experience managing the work program of ERGs
•  Experience with ESG deliverables
•  Strong ability to partner and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels across multiple departments and Vice-Presidential Units
•  Self-awareness and self-management of emotions in stressful situations
•  Sound professional judgment when handling sensitive, highly politicized discussions in group and individual settings
•  A deep understanding of the issues facing underrepresented populations through lived experience or work experience
