The Opportunity
An exciting and rewarding opportunity exists to work with, lead and facilitate the outcomes of the Maribyrnong City Council’s Early Years Team as the Early Years Playgroup Development Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with existing and new supported and community playgroups, venues and service providers
- Support the commencement of new playgroups, and provide assistance to support families to develop their confidence and skills to set up and maintain playgroups that are safe and inclusive
- Provide playgroup families with access to information on referral services, and link with relevant Council and community programs
- Undertake community engagement activities and events to establish playgroups needs and raise the profile of playgroup as an early-years option
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications (children’s services, community development or a related human / social sciences disciplines)
- Knowledge on providing the best practice strategies in the delivery of Education and Care programs
- Skills in the planning and delivery of early year’s projects, plans and initiatives using a partnership approach
- Experience in supporting and coordinating projects and evaluation processes
- Knowledge of how to engage with diverse communities and working with interpreters.
