WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Eastern Nevada Restoration Project Manager will further The Nature Conservancy’s conservation goals by planning and implementing substantial collaborative restoration projects in close coordination with the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S. Forest Service, the Nature Resource Conservation Service and other partners in eastern Nevada. The BLM’s Humboldt-O’Neil Restoration Landscape is the focal geography. In this role, you will focus on the complex demands of implementing restoration projects from initial watershed prioritization to post-implementation monitoring, working closely and continuously with private landowners, the BLM, and additional partners to restore high-priority riparian and upland resources.
Together with partners, this position will develop the necessary designs, permits, and clearances to plan riparian and upland restoration projects, and select, contract with, and oversee the work crews used to implement them. Working at the nexus of public and private lands, you will have the opportunity to leverage time and money to optimize effectiveness. The Eastern Nevada Restoration Project Manager will also organize tranings with and for local landowners and land managers and foster collaborative efforts to help instill a legacy of durable restoration into the future as well as assist partners in refining and executing monitoring plans for existing projects. Through an active Community of Practice with TNC colleagues from across the West, you will co-develop knowledge and expertise to collectively problem solve, understand complex issues, and leverage experience and results that help the BLM accomplish its mission managing our public lands.
The Eastern Nevada Restoration Project Manager will also assist with permanently protecting private lands in eastern Nevada by working with TNC Protection Staff on new conservation easements and acquisitions. The project Manager will coordinate occasional in-person meetings and site visits with private landowners located in eastern Nevada, providing them with information on land preservation options.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION
This role will at times work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions. This role will also work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. Work hitches of 8-10 days requiring overnight travel and at times, camping, will be an expectation during implementation season. This position will require frequent overnight travel in Nevada.
This position will report to the Nevada Business Unit’s Strategy Director for Resilient Public Lands. The position is initially funded by for a 2-year term, with potential for extension contingent on
AUTO SAFETY POLICY
This position requires a valid driver’s license and compliance with TNC’s Auto Safety Program. Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee’s motor vehicle record.
SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $71,000 – 75,500 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate’s location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
