Meadowscapes is an ecological landscaping design/build company located in Falls Village, CT. We strive to shift the traditional landscaping paradigm into a new model that focuses on ecology and sustainability through the use of native plants, sourcing local materials, solar powered electric equipment, and using organic inputs. We transform lawns into native meadows, garden with natural communities, and remove invasive species. This winter, we bought a small greenhouse where we’re growing our own native plants with ecotypic seed (and some non ecotypic) which we plan to continue expanding in the future. We work throughout the tri-state region, occasionally traveling farther.
We’re looking to hire 1-3 employees for the coming season, starting in mid-March/early April, project depending. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until positions are filled. Housing assistance may be available with a 20% discount on employer-owned housing. Please expect to work 40-48 hours a week, five days a week with overtime pay.
The Position (60% maintenance, 40% installation/other):
- Maintain native meadows by cutting and pulling invasive species
- Assist with the installation of meadows and gardens (erosion control, weed whacking, planting, mulching)
