Ecological Restoration Project Manager I

RES is currently accepting applications for a Project Manager I for our Kentucky operations, based out of Louisville or Frankfort, Kentucky offices.

The mission: To drive a project from conception to completion under the guidance of senior level PM, on time, within the scope, and budget.

You will be developing project budgets, outlining a project schedule and managing small projects independently and large projects under supervision. Projects may include water/wetland delineation; Section 404/401 permitting; stream and wetland mitigation planning; monitoring of ecological restoration projects; and threatened/endangered species habitat surveys; and involve field assessment and technical report writing.

What your day-to-day might look like?

Project Manager I develops and manages the full range of project tasks from inception to completion, including marketing RES’ capabilities to existing and prospective clients and negotiating contracts. Existing relationships with public agencies and regulators, private developers, consulting and engineering firms, non-profits, and academia are a plus that will help you to further RES’ reputation and business.

You will be evaluating projects based on an understanding of regulatory and/or technical requirements, financial metrics, and constraints, so experience with forecasting and delivery of financial reports of budgets is expected. Although supported by our regulatory team, we expect you to have a fair amount of expertise in regulatory areas relevant to project development.

Qualifications

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied sciences, engineering, or similar field
• 5+ years of progressive experience in applied sciences, engineering, or construction field; 2+ years of Project Management Experience within the 5+ years
• Experience using project management and scheduling software, AutoCAD and GIS.
• Understanding of Section 404/401 permitting, mitigation banking, and ecological restoration.
• Experience with forecasting and delivery of financial reports of budgets.

What will make you stand out? 

• Experience as the team lead of applied sciences, engineering, or construction department.
• Advanced Degree or additional qualifications in the art and science of Project Management, such as Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Experience with MS Projects.
