This is an exciting chance to make a positive difference to the environment, landscapes and the
rural economy while working at the cutting edge of this fast-moving sector.
For many years, we have been supporting clients integrate environmental schemes into thriving
rural businesses – and part of this role will be advising them on how to build new natural
capital revenues into their businesses, along with identifying the existing environmental
benefits they are delivering.
Our dynamic team is involved in some of the most excising landscape-scale initiatives in the
country (the iconic Iford Biodiversity Project is just one example).
We’re looking for someone who combines a genuine enthusiasm for the environment and natural
habitats with a pragmatic, commercial mindset.

About you
The ideal candidate will
- Have between one and five years’ experience (although we would consider a graduate or
postgraduate with the right attitude and skillset) - Have membership (or working towards membership) of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and
Environmental Management (CIEEM) - Be able to work collaboratively with a range of clients and stakeholders
- Be educated to degree level
- Own a car and have a full driving licence
The role would suit someone with knowledge / experience in some of the following:
- Biodiversity net gain (including use of the Defra metric)
- Habitat and biodiversity creation / management / restoration
- Natural Capital assurance schemes
- Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and EIAs
- Designing and undertaking ecological surveys including Phase 1 / UK Habs
- Agri-environment schemes
- Environmental legislation and planning policy
- Farmer-cluster groups and farmer engagement events
- Fieldwork and report writing
