Overview

Are you looking for a fresh working environment in a small but progressive ecology consultancy that is more than just about protected species and run-of-the-mill planning applications?

If working on historic buildings and landscapes, developing relationships with landowners to deliver broad conservation objectives as well as exciting challenges trying to break new ground, then Bernwood Ecology may be what you are looking for.

We are looking for people with a good grounding in the usual bat and great crested newt surveys, particularly if you are licenced, with good analytical skills, and an ability to assess semi-natural habitats and a thorough understanding of how to manage them. We would also be interested in speaking to ecologists with experience of habitat management planning and agri-environmental schemes.

Recent work has included whole farm planning, re-wilding, wood pasture creation, supporting the Bats in Churches project as well as working with AONB’s and heritage building restoration sites.

As a company we generally operate within south central England in order to reduce the need for long drives and overnight stays, enabling us to focus on being ecologists which is what we do best! As a key member of our small team, you will be able to develop your existing skills in some of the most beautiful sites in England as well as gaining experience in new developing areas of the industry.

If you are interested in fresh challenges please do contact us on [email protected]. Talk to any of our existing staff to discuss working with Bernwood Ecology on 01296 728351.
