Brindley is a well established creative environmental consultancy based in central Edinburgh.
We provide a full range of integrated design and assessment services in support of planning and
development projects.

We are passionate about providing first class design solutions which enhance biodiversity and
the wider environment.

We are seeking an Ecology Manager to work within our multi-disciplinary team to further
integrate recent developments in biodiversity legislation.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Manage the Ecology service including project management and client relationships
  • Embed ecological requirements to ensure a seamless consultancy service particularly with
    reference to NPF4 and Biodiversity Net Gain
  • Provide Ecology advice within the office to landscape architects
  • Lead the development of the ecology service and team
  • Play a key role in implementing business strategy
  • Pro-actively develop new, and maintain existing, client relationships and sub-contractor
    resource pool

About You

You’ll have good field survey and reporting skills, be able to manage a small team and work in
a multidisciplinary environment across several projects simultaneously. You’ll be passionate
about sustainable development and delivering BNG in a meaningful way. You’ll ideally have the
following:

  • CIEEM registered ecologist with PISC level 4
  • Knowledge of UK and EU legislation relating to the protection and enhancement of ecology
  • Good knowledge of the Scottish planning system, environmental legislation and BNG,
    particularly with respect NPF4
  • High standard of report writing skills including EIA
  • Excellent and professional client and supplier communication skills
  • Full UK driving license

Salary range will be competitive and dependent upon relevant experience.
