Title: Economist
Salary: £34,500 – £38,324 depending on experience (+ £3,500 London Weighting if applicable)
Contract: Permanent
Based: This role is predominantly home-based and can be based anywhere within the UK
For those within commutable distance to London, you will have the option of working flexibly between home and in our modern open plan HQ in Embassy Gardens

Your role in our mission…
The main purpose of the Economist role is to develop and lead economic analyses to grow the evidence base around palliative and end of life care and influencing policy and practice in this area. The Economist role requires a range of analytical and critical thinking skills to enable the identification of key economic questions for health and social care policymakers in the UK.
You will develop and implement analytical plans to address these questions and be confident in interpreting and communicating their findings clearly to a range of different audiences.
You will be required to collaborate with teams working across the policy and research directorate to undertake economic analysis projects in line with each area of our strategic focus, as outlined in our . This will include costing – and where possible producing cost/benefit analyses – of policy proposals and new interventions.
This is an ideal career opportunity for someone with expertise in health economics or someone with an economics background with a keen interest in health and specifically palliative and end-of-life care. This role is brand new for Marie Curie and you will have the unique opportunity to shape the role and make a real difference to the palliative care landscape, supported and developed by our excellent Research & Policy team.
