EcoPath Internship – Summer 2025
Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) conserves open space, connects our community with the natural world, and inspires the next generation of conservationists. The Land Trust permanently protects and cares for more than 1,012 acres of woodlands, marshlands, orchards, and meadows throughout Greenwich, preserving the ecological integrity, historic character, and scenic beauty of our community.
Internship Description:
GLT is offering two EcoPath Internships that are eight-week stipend-paid ($2,500), part-time, seasonal positions. The positions are 30-hours per week, run between June and August 2024, and focus on environmental stewardship of Greenwich Land Trust preserves and community engagement with Land Trust volunteers and members. The stipend will be paid at the conclusion of the internship or when the requisite hours are met.
Interns will report to and assist Greenwich Land Trust staff with ongoing and new projects. Interns will have the opportunity to learn how land trusts work and how active land conservation and management is performed. They’ll learn invasive species management techniques as well as native plant propagation skills. There will also be opportunities to gain experience using ArcGIS and Landscape software packages for conservation projects and site monitoring.
Interns will be responsible for coordinating their work schedule in advance and securing transportation to Greenwich Land Trust’s headquarters (370 Round Hill Road, Greenwich, CT) and occasionally other, off-site preserves in the Greenwich area. GLT is willing to work with interns to make the internship qualify for credits when possible.
Responsibilities:
Options are available to develop an independent project based on the intern’s interests depending on the topic.
