Background
EDGE Funders Alliance (“Engaged Donors for Global Equity”) is an international affinity group of funders addressing the systemic nature of the social, economic, and ecological crises threatening the future of our planet. By supporting reflection and collaboration among members and forging strategic partnerships in and outside philanthropy, EDGE works to increase resources for community wellbeing and transnational organizing in ways that promote justice and build lasting, meaningful change.
EDGE is a membership organization with a small, decentralized secretariat. The operations and communication trainee will work closely with the Brussels office colleague, Martina Fin, in charge of EDGE membership and strategy, but will collaborate and support the whole team.
Support to the EDGE communication work
- Updates to the EDGE website and Conference website as needed;
- Working on the bimonthly EDGE newsletter;
- Working on the EDGE Monthly update to members;
- Help to manage internal communication and information, e.g. updating mailing lists and database information;
- Support the update of a membership directory.
Operational Support
- Membership Fee Collection: Assist the Engagement Director with the membership fee collection process, ensuring timely and accurate processing. This includes preparing invoices, monitoring lapsed memberships, and updating systems;
- Membership and Conference Database: ensure timely and accurate data input of EDGE’s databases;
- Support the organization of the annual EDGE conference and other EDGE events;
- Monitoring of and support with managing registrations of the Annual Conference;
- Support the travel logistics of movement representatives attending the conference;
- Participation in and support of general EDGE coordination work;
- Participation in weekly team meetings;
- Support to EDGE working groups and processes.
Working conditions
The position is based on a Belgium “contrat d’immersion professional” and will be paid 1035,20 €,- Euro/net per month. The trainee will have a training supervisor (Martina Fin, Director of Engagement and Strategy).
It is a part-time position (32 hours, 4 days per week), starting on August 20th and ending on February 19th, 2025, with the possibility of an extension if the CIP conditions allow.
This is an English-speaking on-site position based in Brussels.
