Education and Engagement Manager

Education and Engagement Manager – Part-time, 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)

Wessex Rivers Trust is an environmental charity dedicated to the conservation of rivers and
chalk streams in Wessex, working towards healthy rivers for wildlife and people. We look at ways to improve local rivers for wildlife and work within catchment partnerships to help achieve their
aims. Educating the public about the importance of our rivers increases their value to people, and ultimately builds support for the future of these fragile environments.

We are looking to recruit a new part-time Education and Engagement Manager to lead the way in
our vital work throughout Wessex and the Isle of Wight. The successful candidate will be
passionate about environmental education, community outreach and volunteer engagement.

Wessex Rivers Trust delivers hundreds of river education sessions and events each year to
schools, uniformed groups, home education groups, teachers and the general public. We have the
determination to teach as many people as possible about our local chalk streams and river and
empower local communities to take ownership of these precious environments.

As our Education and Engagement Manager you will oversee the growing team, with direct line
management of the Senior Education Officer, Education Officer, Communications & Events
Officer and Youth Engagement Officer. You will be responsible for developing the education and
engagement programmes, ensuring best practice is adhered to, including health and safety, and
work with Trustees to maintain funding for the delivery programmes.
