The intern will support the UNICEF Lebanon Education Section by providing practical, organizational, and logistical assistance to the Multiple Flexible Pathways (MFP) team in the implementation of MFP programs. The main purpose of the internship is to enhance the intern’s professional and educational experience through practical work assignments, exposure to the work of UNICEF, and learning opportunities related to project management, child rights, and equity. Throughout the internship, the intern will gain knowledge of the substantive and operational aspects of various education programs, including the main phases of implementation, vulnerability profiling, data management, and reporting processes, thereby developing a comprehensive understanding of program management in a complex humanitarian context.

Under the supervision and guidance of the Education Manager, the intern will work on the following:

Program Support and Implementation:

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing MFP programs by providing logistical and administrative support.
  • Contribute to the development of program strategies and activities aligned with UNICEF’s mission of promoting the rights of every child.
  • Support the MFP team in conducting programmatic visits to MFP sites.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Assist in documenting program activities, preparing monthly donor reports, success stories, and case studies that highlight the impact of MFP programs on children and youth in Lebanon.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and presentations.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and record action points.
  • Support the team in maintaining accurate records and databases.
Partnership and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with implementing partners and stakeholders to facilitate smooth program implementation, including coordination of meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Other Supportive Tasks:
  • Provide general support to the Education Section as needed, including administrative tasks, attending meetings, and conducting research assignments that contribute to the overall goals of the team.
Deliverables and Schedules:

The intern will provide every month a log of his/her contributions, which will include, but might not be limited to the following:

  • Prepare monthly progress reports outlining tasks accomplished and the support provided to team members.
  • Support in carrying out HACT visits to Makani sites.
  • Assist in monitoring the quality of data reports and verifying results.
  • Assist in monitoring the training/Cascades conducted by partners.
  • Provide logistical support by preparing materials/documentation/data for program implementation follow-up.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly reports for donors, detailing the progress, achievements, and challenges of the different MFP programs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of program activities, including meeting minutes, action points, and programmatic visits to MFP sites.
  • Develop and document success stories from the field that showcase the impact of MFP programs on children and youth in Lebanon.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and presentations for program activities, ensuring alignment with UNICEF’s mission and program strategies.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have: 
  • Enrolled in a degree programme in an undergraduate or graduate school in one of the following fields: Education, Social Sciences, or Law. Or have graduated within the past 2 years.
  • Excellent academic performance as demonstrated by recent university or institution records.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and computer skills (MS applications, especially Word, Publisher and Excel).
  • A strong command of English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is considered an asset.
  • A high level of individual responsibility, commitment, and initiative.
