The purpose of the officer position is to oversee the day-to-day implementation of the education project. Education officers will oversee all operations and supervise Inventive workers.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise incentive workers and provide support to them in line with program objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective filing systems, both electronic and paper.
  • Update and maintain effective work plans, log frames, procurement, and distribution plans.
  • Provide support to NRC activities in line with NRC quality standards.
  • Building the capacity of facilitators and other field staff through training and contributing to the contextualization of training and learning material. 
  • Document technical issues and questions, and channel to the Education Coordinator.
  • Ensure ongoing monitoring, tracking, and reporting of education projects.
  • Regular travel to the field to support education activities.
  • Support Coordinator with field level training and liaise with partner NGOs; implement community engagement initiatives. 
  • Represent NRC at field level coordination meetings.      

Key Education and Skills Requirements:

  • University and/or advanced degree in education or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 03 years of working experience in the field of education in a humanitarian/recovery context (Coxs bazar or Bashan Chor).
  • Having experience in capacity building of Teachers and other field staff through training and contributing to the contextualization of training and learning material.
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts; ability to remain calm and professional in tense situations.
  • Understanding of the circumstances, needs and challenges Host Community/refugee children and youth face
  • Understanding of the role of education in meeting the needs of Host Community/refugee populations
  • Understanding of SPHERE and/or INEE minimum standards
  • Knowledge of the basics of Child Protection and/or psychosocial support
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with children and/or educators; government experience a plus 
  • Experience training or building the capacity of others
  • Experience with youth programming, particularly life skills and vocational training
