Minimum requirements:

Education: 

• A university degree in education, social sciences, development studies, or other relevant technical fields

Work experience:

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in planning and managing alternative education programmes is required.
• Technical understanding on skills, competency standards, CBTA, BNQF, certification and accreditation mechanisms for skills learners is required.
• Experience and understanding on private sector engagement in skill development and job linkage is a requirement.
• Familiarity on ecosystem-based approach, working with government system, market survey, sector planning, private sector engagement and coordination is necessary.

Language Requirements: 

• fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Desirables:

• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
• Experience in multiple flexible pathways for out of school adolescent and young people, secondary and tertiary education is an added advantage.
• Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

• Both internal and external candidates are eligible to apply.

• UNICEF staff members holding fixed-term, continuing, or permanent appointments who are considered to be on abolished post status may apply for this temporary position and, if selected with a start date before their contract expiry, may take it up as a temporary assignment, in line with UNICEF guidance on separation due to the abolition of posts or staff reduction. They will retain their fixed-term entitlements but will not hold a lien to their abolished post.
