Organisational purpose

The Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) is a peak body for the counselling and psychotherapy profession in Australia with approximately 9800 members nationally. PACFA is dedicated to supporting its members and the community by regulating the training and practice of psychotherapy, counselling and Indigenous healing practices to the highest standards of safety, quality and professionalism. Our regulatory functions include certification, registration, accreditation and complaints management. PACFA is a member of Allied Health Professions Australia (APHA) and the National Alliance of Self Regulating Health Professions (NASRHP).

Position purpose

One of PACFA’s core business functions is education, training and accreditation, and development and delivery of timely and high-quality accreditation services associated with that function. Additionally, the Education team, supported by this role, manages projects related to the requirements of PACFA’s membership with AHPA and NASRHP, as well as broader initiatives in the counselling, Indigenous healing practices and psychotherapy education landscape.

About the role

As the Education Project Officer, Endorsement, you will coordinate the effective development, implementation and monitoring of course endorsement and accreditation processes. Reporting directly to the Head of Education, you will ensure the smooth implementation operation of PACFA’s education, training, CPD and accreditation activities.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • organising and coordinating CPD course endorsement processes, from initial assessment to final listing,
  • maintaining and streamlining administrative and information management systems to support accreditation processes,
  • supporting the ongoing maintenance of PACFA’s digital badge and credentialing system, including organising member lists and managing project administration,
  • responding to enquiries related to education, training, CPD and accreditation from various stakeholders, and
  • preparing standard correspondence for course providers, registrants, members and accreditation bodies.

About you

You are a highly organised professional with effective planning, data management and administration skills. You excel at building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and can handle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines. Your attention to detail, proactive approach and strong communication skills makes you an asset to any team.

You have:

  • strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders,
  • outstanding organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise administrative and secretariat tasks effectively,
  • demonstrated ability to understand and apply policies, procedures and operational standards relevant to education, training, CPD and accreditation processes,
  • the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team, showing initiative and adaptability.

It would be beneficial, though not essential, if you also have:

  • experience in professional regulation, education or health sectors,
  • understanding of tertiary education sector and/or professional education; or
  • a relevant tertiary qualification.
