Exciting opportunity for an Education Support Officer to join the Faculty of Engineering
Base Salary $95,860 – $103,341 p.a. (HEO6) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The School of Biomedical Engineering is currently seeking an Education Support Officer to provide a broad range of education, administrative and operational support to Academic and Teaching staff to meet the educational support needs of the School of Biomedical Engineering. As part of the role you will coordinate the compilation of academic content and material prepared by Academic and Teaching staff for research-based programs of study, printed publications and/or uploading to blackboard/online systems. You will provide education support services in line with academic requirements and the overall timetable for the work area.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
liaise with and establish effective working relationships with key staff to ensure that the School’s education support, learning and teaching priorities and needs are effectively met
gather and analyse statistical data in preparation of reports for the work area to aid in ongoing operational planning processes
work collaboratively with education staff at the Faculty layer to ensure processes are streamlined and consistent across Schools
utilise a number of systems (SharePoint, Canvas, Power BI, Sydney Student, etc.) on a daily basis to support and communicate with staff.

effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written) together with strong problem-solving skills, the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement
excellent time and workload management skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
experience delivering education programmes, preferably in a tertiary education environment
experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems together with sound understanding of timetabling/rostering of student activities
extensive knowledge of University policies and procedures and administrative processes within a tertiary environment.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
