Our Ideal Candidate

The purpose of the Education Team Leader is to implement the delegated Education Activity at field level, direct implementation and manage Education staff and ensure capacity building to the Education team for the smooth operation of day-to-day field activity.

Key Task and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Education team, Project Coordinator (PC) and Project Manager (PM) on the implementation of projects across the project cycle phases.
  • Maintain accurate records of project participants and track progress against set targets.
  • Support and guide the Education Officers and Assistants in their daily tasks.
  • Facilitate effective communication with communities Including orientations on selection criteria, project activities and targets and awareness raising campaigns.
  • Extend support to volunteer teachers and field-based teams.
  • Support the PC and PM in representing NRC in external meetings.
  • Support the PC and PM in participating and leading working groups.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports on the activities, challenges, and gaps against set targets.
  • Coordinate with various NRC staff from other CCs at field level on planning and implementing program activities.
  • Lead on teacher capacity building initiatives and provide follow up support and monitoring.
  • Ensure the quality of project activities using quality standards and checklists.
  • Ensure and promote efficient and cost-effective use of NRC’s assets and resources to maximize benefit to beneficiaries.
  • Coordinate respectfully and positively with local authorities.
  • Provide regular reports relating to analysis of assessment findings, as well as progress and situation reports on challenges identified in the field.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator (PC)/Project Manager (PM) in administration, logistics (including inventory, purchases and requisitions, quotations, as well as IT hardware / software support), coordination, execution and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work in close collaboration with the NRC finance, admin and logistics teams and coordinate activities with the Shelter, and Information Counselling and Legal Assistance (EDUCATION) teams
  • Conduct internal weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings and collect accurate and updated information.
  • Contribute assessments and new initiatives for expansion of the program.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Key Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Candidates with a university and/or advanced degree in Education, Social Sciences, Project Planning and Management, Social Work and Social Administration, Development Studies.
  • Postgraduate or master’s qualification would be an added advantage.
  • At least 03 years of related work experience in Education and/or Skills development programme implementation in crisis context.
  • knowledge of the needs and challenges faced by IDP/returnee and refugee children and young people face and the sensitivity of the context.
  • Understanding of Rohingya dialect would be an added advantage.
  • Experience of refugee and emergency education contexts in Bangladesh
  • Understanding of INEE minimum standards
  • Knowledge of Gender, disability, Child Protection, and psychosocial support
  • Experience of working with educators, managing, training, and building the capacity of others
