Job Description
The Learning Systems team within the OTDI provides reliable and effective academic technology resources for teaching, learning, and documenting educational activities for OSU students, faculty, and staff. This position will work within the LS software development team charged with designing, developing, and managing innovative enterprise-wide applications and data integrations used by a majority of our 80,000 students, faculty, and staff.
General expectations of the eLearning Systems Developer – Associate will include working under the guidance of lead or senior developers on projects with enterprise-wide impact. The position will be expected to collaborate with team members while developing a deep understanding of academic organizational structures and processes to assist in designing, developing, and deploying solutions that meet established industry standards. The position also provides ongoing daily support and incident resolution for all applications and associated issues and will be expected to be available for off-hours incident resolution and planned maintenance activities. Specific expectations of this role also include assisting the team charged with the design, development, and maintenance of scalable applications and data integrations. The position will use solid design principles, integration development, and the implementation of containerized continuous integration systems to deliver requirements-driven, data-rich solutions in alignment with the organizational mission and goals.
Required Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1 – 2 years experience in building web application UIs with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of modern UI frameworks, such as Next, React, Angular, and Vue, and tools such as npm, eslint, Webpack, Babel, etc.
• Knowledge of asynchronous programming with Node.js frameworks like NestJS and Express.
• 1 – 2 years experience in implementing RESTful web services.
• Knowledge of source control tools such as Git.
• A fundamental understanding of programming best practices.
Desired Education/Experience
• 1 years experience with SQL databases like PostgreSQL and MSSQL, or NoSQL
• Some experience with .NET MVC and Entity Framework
• Databases like MongoDB and Redis.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

This position maps to Information Technology, Enterprise Applications Development, Individual Contributor – Specialized, and S1 Level.
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is 53,800.00 – 71,700.00.
