Electrician

Main Purpose:

 

Performing autonomously complex/advanced installations and maintenance of electrical and other energy systems in all MSF facilities across the Mission (offices, health structures, warehouses etc. according to MSF Standards and Procedures to ensure proper functioning and maintenance of MSF equipment and installations.

Accountabilities

 

 

• Ensuring all electrical installations in MSF facilities comply with MSF Standards and performing autonomously and ensuring all complex/advanced maintenance, installations and repairs are according to the Supervisor instructions. This includes the following tasks:

 

• Carrying out critical rehabilitation tasks and corrective interventions and the coordination and execution of required tasks as well as installation of required electrical equipment as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary documentation for carrying out energy installations projects (plans, list of materials and accessories)

 

• Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSF Mission facilities and performing annual maintenance and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after every installation or repair

 

• Identifying local technical actors and organizing their participation in the project (training of technical staff, establishing relations with local companies, contractors and suppliers, quotations and contracts etc.)

 

• Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF electrical installations and equipment and assisting Logistics department with any urgent support / advice or any related work needed

 

 

• Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical installations, repairs and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventory, executing orders when necessary for renewing stock, avoiding shortages

 

• Responsible for the equipment and tools (including fire extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used

 

 

• Keeping working area clean and tidy

 

• Ensuring that all record books and sheets related to maintenance are always completed and prepare any needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance

 

 

MSF Section/ Context Specific Accountabilities

 

• Draw and update electrical diagrams for each facility electrical installation
• Identify supply sources providing MSF standard electrical equipment, spares and components
• Performing installations, maintenance and repairs to the following:
• HVAC package units
• A/C split units
• Ventilation units and systems
• Portable A/C units

 

 

• Education:

Essential Electrician Diploma or recognized FORMAL training in the assigned technical area

• Experience:

Previous minimum 2 years working experience as an Electrician.

Experience in carrying out complex and advanced electrical installations

Experience in HVAC systems installation, maintenance and repairs

• Languages:

Mission working language and local languages essential.
